One of Great Yarmouth’s most recognizable faces has been named chairman of the town’s football club.

Jack Jay is known to countless families as the host of the many annual Hippodrome Circus shows, which he also produces.

Mr Jay has been Chairman of Great Yarmouth Town Football Club for the past three years and has now been appointed Chairman.

He tweeted: “Extremely proud to continue to serve this great club and our community. Glad to continue the hard work and to deliver some exciting projects very soon.

The new Bloaters president is Martyn Sinclair.

The club also announced new life presidents, John Baldry, Arthur Fisk and Elizabeth and Walter Giles. They received the titles “in recognition of their achievements and commitment to Great Yarmouth Town FC”.

The town of Great Yarmouth celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. The first team plays in the Thurlow Nunn North Division 1. They have played at the Wellesley Recreation Ground since 1901.
