The four-day weekend may be behind us, but there’s still plenty of summer to visit your favorite beach (if the weather is nice of course)! We’re spoiled for choice when it comes to amazing beach spots here in Norfolk, but there are two that particularly stand out.

Holkham Beach and Hunstanton Beach were both named among the best in the UK in a recently published guide. The list, created by Travel and Leisurenamed 18 beaches across the country as the perfect Jubilee Bank Holiday getaways.

The list includes locations from all over England and even further afield, including Scotland and Northern Ireland. Holkham has been praised for its “excellent walking routes” while Hunstanton has been described as “Quintessentially British” and a “slice of Norfolk paradise”.

Hunstanton is known for its striped cliffs

On Holkham Beach they said: ‘Norfolk’s seaside gem is often voted one of the best sandy spots in the UK and for good reason: it makes you feel light years away from civilisation.

“Huge and windswept, it’s backed by a grassy nature reserve filled with excellent hiking trails that have been designed to help dust off all those cerebral cobwebs. The pinewoods are also a great place to check out the flora and wildlife, from stunning orchids to kaleidoscopic birds.

Meanwhile, Hunstanton was highlighted for its rows of tea rooms and pony rides along the promenade. They described Old Hunstanton Beach as perfect for “going barefoot in the creamy yellow sand or just watching the sunset, with a fluffy blanket and a picnic.”
