‘Peaky Blinders’ Creator Steven Knight Talks Series Return With New Creative Team

The thrilling detective series Peaky Blinders may continue with a new storyline in the future.

The creator of the popular crime thriller series Peaky Blinders hinted at the series continuing on Tuesday at the world premiere of a new Peaky Blinders dance show at Birmingham Hippodrome titled The Redemption of Thomas Shelby.

The director told the BBC’s Midlands Today on Tuesday that he could continue with “possible new stories in the 1950s”.

For those unfamiliar, the series ended with the sixth season airing in April 2022, but Mr. Knight said, “If there’s an appetite for the world, it will continue.”

He further revealed that he plans to “hand over” the writing after the movie Peaky Blinders is released in 2024.

Filming for this is set to begin at the Digbeth Birmingham studio in early 2023.

The detective series first aired on BBC Two in September 2013, the show’s ratings quickly rose to over two million for the first series and over four million for the fourth series.

For the uninitiated, streaming giant Netflix has held exclusive international distribution rights to the series since September 2014, with new seasons arriving roughly every year.
