Trois-Rivieres, QC – National debt (Native American) is a $712,838 career Standardbred harness racing horse who has competed in Canada and the United States with great success, but one track in particular, Hippodrome 3R, is his favorite and on Sunday he is the favorite in the preferred Rhythm handicap.

Because National Debt has always done well at the H3R, including winning two starts in this class in 1:55.4, the race office left him outside post 8 in the 8e race function.

Now 11, the gelding enters the race having made just 11 starts at H3R in the past ten years. What makes H3R his favorite track is that in those 11 starts he won 7 times, was second 2 times and third once. The other start was a 4e arrival point. Some pretty amazing statistics.

National Debt enters H3R after starting last week at Rideau Carleton where he finished third in the game, missing out on victory by three-quarter lengths in a swift 1:51.2.

On Sunday, he will have regular runner Pascal Bérubé in the sulky. Dette Nationale is formed by Yves Tessier for owner François Morin de Beauceville. He is listed as the morning 5/2 line favorite.

But this week it may not be too easy for National Debt as it takes on formidable foes in Mickeymaksomespeed (post 7), who last week took the lead after the first quarter and hardwired the field for the pilot Kiwon Waldron in 1:55 for their first victory. this year after two second places. Mickeymaksomespeed was bred and owned and trained by Michel Allard.

Another contender is Menlo Park (Post 6) who enters the race with a wire-to-wire score of 1:55.3 and will again be driven by Stephane Brosseau for owner-trainer Jean-Francois Reid.

7e Preferred-Handicap Trot breed features the return of Quebec champion Stella Alpha (position 6), who is the only filly against older horses and mares. She’s on a two-game winning streak, scoring both times at the H3R in 2:00.

Stella Alpha takes on XOXO (post 7), which was sold after its last start and will be piloted for the first time by Kiwon Waldron. Also in the peloton is returning winner Libero Hanover (post 8), who is moving up the class after a 2:00 triumph last week.

Another Alpha horse, Platine Alpha (position 8), leads the 5e Mares Preferred Pace breed. She is coming off a hard nose triumph last week in 1:58. She faces Le Petite Grise (ranked 9 second) who has won her last two starts, the fastest a victory of 1:57.

Posting time on Sunday at H3R is 12:00 p.m. For a free running program, visit www.hippodrome3r.ca.
