Millbrook Playhouse will present its first indoor musical in over a year; Elephant & Piggie’s “We’re in a room!” based on the best-selling, beloved and award-winning children’s books by author Mo Willems. This charming entertainment is perfect for the whole family. Weekends from June 19 to 22.

In this delightful storybook adaptation, an elephant named Gerald and a pig named Piggie are best, best, “best” friends. But sometimes they are faced with difficult questions. What do you wear for a chic night out? Should you share your ice cream? Can two friends play with one toy? Gerald the elephant is careful, but Piggie is not. In fact, she’s even happier and more excited than usual because she and Gerald were invited to a party hosted by the Squirrelles – three fun-loving song squirrels. And so begins a day when anything is possible. Filled with beloved Mo Willems characters and catchy songs, “We Are in a Play!” of Elephant & Piggie. offers a hilarious musical experience as two of the most delightfully fun characters in children’s literature come to life on stage in their very first play.

Elephant & Piggie’s “We’re in a room!” The book and lyrics are by Mo Willems, and the music by Deborah Wicks The Puma. Millbrook Artistic Director David E. Leidholdt directs the production, as director and choreographer, and Mo Ortbal as musical director. The talented cast includes longtime Millbrook performer Aimee Hunsinger as Piggie, Josh Glover as Gerald the Elephant, and the Squirrelles singer trio includes Nyah Charles, Tara Wands and Kelly Long. .

Millbrook’s “incredibly” talented team behind the production include; Scenography by Aaron White and Walter Pigford, lighting design by Brooke Reese and prop design by VC Deener. The production is directed by Kayla Shutters.

The performances are on Saturdays June 19 and 26 at 10:00 a.m. and on Sundays June 20 and 27 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets cost $ 12 for adults, $ 8 for children. The counters are open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour before the sessions. Seating for this production is general admission and apparently lasts 60 minutes.

NOTE: Millbrook Playhouse follows current CDC guidelines. The current policy is that masks are optional for all vaccinated customers, and we ask those who are not vaccinated to wear masks when in the building and theater.
