WILMINGTON — It was planned to be a two-night celebration of jams and noodles, but the first night was cut short due to inclement weather. String Cheese Incident went through a set at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in late April before “dark and ominous clouds” came to bring the show to a halt, according to photographer Tom Dorgan.

Appropriately, the band ended the first set with “Black Clouds”. Shortly after, around 7:45 p.m., the crowd came out due to thunder and lightning. The band played a rain jam in the band room behind the stage while waiting for a comeback which didn’t happen until the second night, April 27.

String Cheese did not disappoint on night two, bringing their potent mix of bluegrass, electronica, reggae, psychedelia, calypso, country folk and more. Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, electric slide guitar), Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar, violin), Michael Travis (drums, percussion) and Keith Moseley (bass), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, accordion) and Jason Hahn (auxiliary percussion) performed more than a dozen tracks.

The opening act consisted of a local act of Americana Into the Fog, consisting of Winston Mitchell, Derek Lane and Brian Stephenson. Below are photos from both nights and SCI’s setlists.
