GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Centers will hold their annual acceptance celebration at the 2021 I Have a Voice Gala. This year they are celebrating 10 years of supporting the voices of people with Down syndrome here in Quads Cities as the local Playhouse turns 10 on October 1.st.

The gala will take place on October 9 at the Rhythm City Casino in Davenport. In addition to entertainment from young adults, mentors and host families, the gala will include a sit-down dinner, cocktail party, dancing and live performances and chances to win various auction items, free photo booths . There are also virtual participation options for those who cannot attend in person.

Last year, GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities hosted over 2,000 hours of programming, even during Covid shutdowns. Many programs took place virtually during Covid with home kits provided to families. All programs offered by GiGi are free for people with Down’s syndrome (all ages) and this is possible thanks to your support for this event.

Donations to the gala will fund educational programs such as literacy and math tutoring; therapeutic programs such as speech therapy.

GiGi’s Playhouse is the only national network of Down Syndrome Success Centers, changing lives through free, results-based programs for people of all ages, families and communities. GiGi’s Playhouse is an inspiring and dedicated place to benefit from free programs that nurture self-esteem, confidence and continuous improvement. Beyond helping people with Down syndrome, they address the broader vision of global acceptance for people of all abilities through #GenerationG.

With more than 50 Playhouses in the US and Mexico, the organization is growing 16% per month and aims to have a Playhouse in every state by 2021. Surviving entirely through donor funds, GiGi’s Playhouse is breaking down barriers and change the way the world accepts people with Down’s Syndrome by promoting acceptance and hope for all.

GiGi’s Playhouse is a tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) charity founded in 2003 by CNN Hero Nancy Gianni after the birth of her daughter GiGi. For more information, visit www.GiGisplayhouse.org.
