POTTSTOWN PA – Forget the princesses you think you know by fable or fact. A new cast of royal renegades arrive Friday (February 4, 2022) at 8 p.m. at the Steel River Playhouse in Pottstown to comedically uncover the truth. The performance hall presentation of “Disenchanted!” launches this weekend and runs through February 20.

“Poison apples. Glass slippers. Who needs them? Not Snow White and her band of disenchanted princesses in this hilarious adult musical that’s anything but Grimm. The original storybook heroines aren’t too happy with the way they’ve been portrayed in today’s pop culture, so they threw down their tiaras and came to life to set the record straight,” the promoters reported.

The show runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Other special Saturday mornings are scheduled for February 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $29 for adults, $24 for those 65 and older, and $17 for students. They can be purchased online, here, or by calling the Steel River box office at 610-970-1199.

Written by Dennis T. Giancino and directed by Alicia Brisbois, this Broadway Licensing show features cast members Alicia Huppman as Snow White, Liana Henrie as Cinderella, Ren Dougherty as Sleeping Beauty, Alessandra Fanelli as Belle, Taylor Patullo in The Little Mermaid, Nicole Napolitano in Rapunzel, Christina Concilio in Hua Mulan, Pocahontas and Princess Badroulbador, and Kena Butts in The Princess Who Kissed the Frog.

The adult language, themes and content make this a show decidedly not for kids, the playhouse politely observed.

“It is a pleasure for us to stage the truths of our favorite princesses! Book your babysitters, make your dates, your sisters and your girlfriends and buy tickets for this show,” said the theater house’s general manager, Rita Pederson.
