Batman dreams of a black Christmas – and he arrives in town armed with trees that match his favorite color.

The Caped Crusader heads to Birmingham tomorrow (Thursday) in a livery pickup which is touted as “an alternative to Santa’s cave”.

The exterior of the van will feature the famous Bat logo to make sure you don’t miss it.

But inside there will be Christmas decorations worthy of the dark knight – because even the trees will be black.

Anyone who visits Batman and the Van and enters the onsite contest via QR code will have a chance to win one of five full DC packs including all of the items listed below.

And for those who cannot attend in person, there will also be an online option.

Batman was pictured with Santa on the DC # 27 cover – which also featured Robin on the front.

A Batman spokesperson said, “Santa and Batman have a surprising number of similarities.

“They both live reclusive lifestyles, can be spotted on rooftops, and know who’s been mean or nice.

“Batman can’t wait to come to Birmingham.”

The tour will start on Thursday, December 9 at Gotham Village (a aptly named small village in the East Midlands, Gotham City being actually the home of Batman) from 9am to 9:30 am before moving on to nearby Nottingham Clumber Street (11am to 11:40 am).

Batman will head to the Hurst Street event space outside Birmingham Racecourse in the city’s Southside Entertainment Village from 4 p.m. to 5:40 p.m. later Thursday.

For those with friends in the north, Batman will next be at Printworks Manchester from 10 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. on Friday 10 December before heading to the South Side Parade in Leeds for a final appearance from 2:50 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A full line of DC toys and products are available for purchase now from Smyths, The Entertainer, Amazon, and Warner Bros. Shop.

This week’s tour is not in conjunction with Robert Pattinson’s new film The Batman, based on the character created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger – the film is currently slated for a UK release on March 4, 2022.

Batman’s appearance also comes before Jason Donovan stars Goldilocks and the Three Bears at Birmingham Racecourse from Saturday December 18 through Sunday January 30 in a production that took place last year because of Covid-19.

Santa will not be with Batman as pictured on DC cover # 27.

But he is expected to visit all homes in Birmingham on Christmas Eve, December 24, as scheduled.
