It aims to develop young talent and increase opportunities for the arts in the Louisville area.
“We want people to stay here and hopefully one day be a training destination for young theater professionals,” said show producer Randy Blevins. “Not just on stage but behind the stage.”

Making the arts more accessible started with auditions. Blevins said that instead of holding hearings in one location at a time, they went out into the community.
âWe saw people we probably wouldn’t have seen if we hadn’t been to the west end or the south end,â Blevins said.
The company also offered scholarships to some artists to attend training camp.
The Wizard of Oz opening night is Friday, July 30. There is also a show on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
