The Dunes Arts Foundation in holding with the tradition and intentions of the founders, continues to provide a venue for the performing arts. Along with classes offered to children, youth and adults at the Dunes Summer Theatre, the foundation strives to entertain, enlighten and bring joy to all who enter.

SUMMER CAMPS
AUDITIONS
AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT - "ONCE UPON A WOLF"
Anyone interested in being a part of the Show in addition
to all of our "campers" are eligible to audition for our
Children & Youth Theatre production,
"Once Upon A Wolf" that will be presented to the public
July 31st - August 3rd.
Auditions will be held Sunday, July 6rd from 5-7 PM
and Monday, July 7th from 5-7 PM.
Rehearsals will be held Monday - Friday beginning July 8th
from 3:00-5:00 p.m. (directly after day camps)
ONCE UPON A WOLF is a comedy written by Steph DeFerie.
This fast and furious collection of fractured fairy tales
with a modern twist tells what happens when the Big Bad Wolf decides
he doesn't want to be big or bad anymore!
Old Granny Stinkyfeet wants to tell stories to the kids,
but she's having trouble with the Wolf.
He won't eat her like he's supposed to!
He wants to be the good guy for a change,
so he's off on a mission to become a hero -
no matter how many people tell him it's impossible.
This show utilizes audience participation
which will make it even more fun to attend!

"Introduction to the Theatre Arts"
Ages: 5-7 year olds
Cost: $50 per student
Time: 10:05-11:00 AM (Chicago Time)
Days: Monday-Friday
Dates: July 28th - August 1st.
Students will be given unparalleled instruction
to learn their way around the theatre
in addition to playing fun performance games to develop
their confidence, imagination, and stage skills.
A special performance of our Children's Theatre show,
"Once Upon A Wolf" will be included during Friday's class!
No class presentation, but a take home gift will be a part of the program.
Parents are welcome to enjoy the sunshine on our patio during class times.
"Building Character Camp"
Ages: 8-12 year olds
Cost: $160 per student
Time: 10:05 AM-2:45 PM (Chicago Time)

Days: Monday-Friday
Dates: July 7th-July 11th.
Presentation will be at 5:00 PM, Friday July 11th
Students will receive top-notch professional education in
creative dramatics, movement, and voice to develop their own unique characters
to be presented in our camp-end performance!
"Teens On The Scenes"
Ages: 13-18 year olds
Cost: $350 per student
Time: 10:05 AM-2:45 PM (Chicago Time)
Please bring a brown bag lunch
Days: Monday-Friday for two weeks
Dates: July 14th-18th and July 21-25th
Presentation 5:00 July 25th.
Teens will enjoy working with professional instructors
to develop and refine stage skills while rehearsing selected scenes
from our finest 20th Century playwrights such as
Tennessee Williams, Eugene O'Neil, Arthur Miller, and more.
Students will apply the techniques they have learned as they present their scenes
to a live audience during our class presentation
to be held at 5:00 PM on our camp-end day.

The Dunes Summer Theatre is located between Michigan City and New Buffalo [very close to Grand Beach] just off Hwy. 12. Turn in at Michiana Shores sign, turning right and staying on inner road for about two blocks to Shady Oak, turning left and immediately left again to theatre parking lot.
